Industry Leader Global Marine Systems Outfits Ships withSeaMobile Communications System
Seattle, WA. and Chelmsford, UK. (September 11, 2007) -- SeaMobile Enterprises, the dominant global service provider of at-sea communications, connectivity and content services, announced today it has reached an agreement to provide its Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN) satellite services aboard three vessels of Global Marine Systems, the independent, market-leading subsea cable installation and maintenance company. Terms of the three-year contract were not disclosed. SeaMobile has installed its MTN VSAT satellite services on two of the ships and expects to install the third ship this month. The service allows Global Marine Systems the ability to stay in constant communication at a reasonable cost and to provide another crew benefit through use of the SeaMobile OceanPhone stored value calling cards. Global Marine Systems charter customers also benefit from the additional satellite bandwidth now available on its ships. “We originally chose SeaMobile’s MTN satellite services because of the company’s vast communications experience delivering services for the cruise market and other maritime customers. Now that we have completed two of our three installations, we are even more impressed with the company’s dedication to professional and excellent customer service,” said John Golding, Operations Director for Global Marine Systems. SeaMobile provides broadband satellite and other services for more than 300 maritime vessels throughout the world and delivers solutions for cruise lines, ferries, yachts, casino boats, container ships, fishing vessels, offshore platforms, the government and military, and remote land-based operations. “Our relationship with Global Marine Systems gives SeaMobile the opportunity to serve another maritime market,” said Bill Marks, Chairman and CEO of SeaMobile Enterprises. “We are very pleased to have been chosen by this industry leading customer.” |
